CHILDREN OF MASCARO EMPLOYEES RECEIVE MORE THAN $40,000 IN COMPANY EDUCATIONAL GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

A good company has good benefits for its employees. In that regard, local waste service company J. P. Mascaro & Sons goes the extra mile.In addition to providing what are considered customary employee benefits in a progressive company (i.e., medical, dental, paid vacation, family leave, disability, life insurance, bonus program, 401(k) retirement plan, etc.), the Mascaro company also provides some additional “unique” employee benefit programs.

One such program is the Children’s Educational Assistance Program headed by company Director of Education and Community Relations, Lindsay Mascaro Ptaszenski.Under that program, children of Mascaro employees are eligible for educational advancement grants and scholarships from a special scholarship fund that Mascaro established in 2013 to help with the financial burden of high school, college and university programs. So far in 2015, Mascaro has awarded more than $40,000 in grants and scholarships for children of Mascaro employees, and almost $70,000 has been awarded since the program’s inception.

Speaking to the Children’s Educational Assistance Program, Lindsay Mascaro said, “Helping our employees with the education of their children is something that is really important and that our company is happy it can do. This is a program I am particularly supportive of as the company Director of Education.”

Other company programs that Mascaro employees can benefit from include an employee College Tuition Reimbursement Program, a professional Financial Planning Program, a Legal Assistance Program, and a Health/Medical Care Assistance Program.

“As a company, we have always strived to make our employees feel welcomed, wanted and appreciated, and programs such as the Children’s Educational Assistance Programs and the others are one way of doing that,” said Mascaro-Ptaszenski.
