WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP AWARDS J. P. MASCARO & SONS SEVEN YEAR WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICE CONTRACTS VALUED AT $23.6 MILLION

At its September 8th public meeting, the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to award local waste company J. P. Mascaro & Sons a comprehensive seven-year waste service contract valued at $23.6 million.

The service contract will begin January 1, 2023, for the collection, transportation, and disposal of Township residential waste, and for the curbside collection, transportation, and processing of single stream household recyclables. "The Whitemarsh contract is one of the largest municipal contracts in the region, and our company appreciates the opportunity to serve the Township over the next seven years” said company president, Pat Mascaro, “we are equally pleased that the township to have its residential waste disposed of at our modern, company-affiliated Pioneer Crossing Landfill in nearby Berks County," Mascaro added.

Under the new contract, Township residents will receive once a week trash and recycling services, and thereafter processed and marketed at Mascaro's modern, fully automated 85,000 sq. ft. TotalRecycle single stream recycling facility in Exeter Township, Berks County, immediately adjacent to the Pioneer Crossing Landfill.  Under the new contract, yard waste will also be collected weekly between April through November 1st.
