MASCARO WINS CONTRACT VALUED AT $37 MILLION

Local waste removal company, J. P. Mascaro & Sons, has won a contract with the Municipality of Norristown valued at approximately $37 million.  The contract provides for weekly trash removal and recycling services and various miscellaneous cleanup services.

Norristown is the county seat and one of the largest municipalities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with a population in excess of 35,000. Pasquale (Pat) Mascaro, president of the company, stated, “we were excited to be awarded this contract for Norristown was the home of our grandparents when they immigrated to America from Calabria, Italy.  Our family has strong associations and pride within this community”.

The contract will be serviced by Mascaro’s Bridgeport division situated five minutes from the municipality.  The division operates 60 trucks daily with a workforce of 150 and maintains a local recycling and trash transfer facility on site to ensure a high level of service.

Mascaro is the premier provider of municipal services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania serving over 100 municipalities with a first-class infrastructure.  “Mascaro stated our long-term infrastructure which consists of terminals, transfer facilities, recycling centers, composting facilities and sanitary landfills is second to none in this region.”

The company is privately owned and operated and is managed today by a third generation of Mascaro’s, who are grandchildren of the company founder, J. P. Mascaro Sr., who instituted the company slogan, “If It’s Service, It’s Us” at its founding.

J. P. Mascaro & Sons, founded and headquartered in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is one of the largest privately owned waste service companies in the country and is an industry leader.  For more information about the company, its facilities and services, visit its website at www.jpmascaro.com.
