THERE’S NOT MUCH IT CAN’T HANDLE – Lower Pottsgrove waste hauler J.P. Mascaro and Sons has operated a large-scale waste materials recycling facility (at top) at 1270 Lincoln Rd. in Birdsboro since February 2016, but only months ago opened an adjacent public drop-off station (below) for goods to be recycled. Township Board of Commissioners’ member Robert Mohollen recently toured the growing facility, he reported to his colleagues during the July 6 meeting, said he was “very impressed” by the tonnage of material the effort is keeping out of local landfills. The company said it processed more than 100 million pounds of recyclable materials last year. Leaving recycled materials at the drop-off site is free to the public. Its operating hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
