SUBJECT: J. P. MASCARO & SONS WINS APROXIMATLEY $25 MILLION IN
NEW MUNICIPAL BUSINESS FOR 2007

J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a local trash and recycling company has been awarded approximately $25 million in new trash and recycling collection service starting January 1, 2007. The communities of Exeter , Pennsburg, East Greenville, Tatamy, Archbald, Penn Lake Park, Red Hill, Beaver Meadows, Bath, Laureldale, Maysfield, Hellertown, Freeland, Lower Pottsgrove, and Hanover selected J. P. Mascaro & Sons over the next five years because they submitted the most competitive bids for service. Most of the contracts start January 1, 2007, while Hanover will start later in the year. In total, Mascaro provides collection and recycling services for over 50 other municipalities in Pennsylvania.

The company, founded and headquartered in Lower Providence, Montgomery County, is the largest privately owned waste company in the northeast. To serve its regional customer base, Mascaro collects, recycles, transfers, transports, disposes, and beneficially uses and composts non-hazardous solid waste.
The company owns and operates eight DEP solid waste facilities in Pennsylvania and West Virginia including the Pioneer Crossing Landfill in Berks County, PA, where the Townships’ trash will be disposed. Pioneer Crossing recently received a DEP expansion permit, increasing the disposal capacity to about 20 years, assuring that Mascaro will have the long-term disposal infrastructure necessary to serve its customers now and in the future.
Founded by J.P. Mascaro, Sr. and continued by his five sons, the company now has the benefit of a growing number of third generation family members to guide the business in the future.
